PEB Steel Buildings has celebrated its 18-year presence in South East Asia by noting the recent double-digit growth of its business in Vietnam in the pre-engineered steel buildings industry.
PEB Steel now employs about 600 people to work in four factories. Mr. Sami Nour Kteily, General Director of PEB Steel Buildings, said: “Our journey in Vietnam has been a very successful one, during which we have built four factories in Vietnam with a total fabrication capacity of 60,000 metric tons per year.”
PEB Steel’s third factory was completed in 2009 and two years later, the fourth factory was put into operation in Dong Xuyen Industrial Park (Vung Tau City).
PEB Steel is a Europe-based leading company that specialises in design, fabrication and erection of pre-engineered steel buildings in Vietnam. It has produced thousands of successful pre-engineered steel buildings for the customers in many countries, Mr. Kteily said.
“What makes our journey remarkable,” Mr. Kteily said, “ is that every single year of the last 18 years was a successful one and what makes it even more remarkable is that despite the world financial crisis, we have achieved a double-digit growth in each of the years 2010, 2011 and 2012, bringing our sales turnover in Vietnam close to $50 million in 2012.”
Vietnam has also served as a springboard for PEB Steel Buildings to expand its manufacturing facilities in Asia, with the opening of one big venture factory in India and another smaller one in Bangladesh, bringing up its total manufacturing capacity in Asia up to 120,000 metric tonnes per year.
PEB Steel also opened five regional representative offices in Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Philippines and Indonesia.
Kteily said that PEB Steel is starting the year 2013 with a healthy backlog of sales orders that will soon translate into more orders of raw materials, welding materials, painting materials, logistics services, banking services, and more consultancy services.
